The Mi5 is a big deal for Xiaomi. After more than a year of anticipation, the device will finally make its debut next month with events in China and at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. But, before that happens, the device is leaking once again online.
NoWhereElse managed to gets it hands on a few photos of the Mi5’s packaging, revealing what looks like the final design. Xiaomi will apparently offer the device in gold, pink, white and black. It also sports a metal frame and a fingerprint reader in front.
According to Hugo Barra, who Xiaomi poached from Google back in 2013, the company will bring the Mi5 to MWC for a special media preview. The device will likely already be official following a product launch in China that day.

Earlier this month Barra also tweeted that he had his hands on a copy of the Mi5, adding that Xiaomi’s new phone was worth the extra long wait.
My own Mi 5 just rolled off our production line today and… into my pocket. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. So worth the wait

Rumor has it the Xiaomi Mi5 may also sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter, a 3000mAh battery, 16GB/64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.
Even with a launch event at MWC, we’re still not expecting the device to be available in Europe or the U.S., though Xiaomi seems to be edging a lot closer to a global release. Maybe by the time the Mi6 rolls around the company will finally make the jump.
