Xiaomi Mi Drone official, price starts at just $380

Xiaomi finally unveiled its long-rumored drone on Wednesday. The Mi Drone offers a sleek quad-copter design with a built-in 360-degree camera for an extremely attractive price.

Xiaomi’s first drone packs four propellers and a 5100mAh battery, offering 27 minutes of continuous flight. It also offers a 12-megapixel Sony lens that shoots 4K video with RAW format support for ¥2999 ($456). You can opt for a cheaper 1080p model that costs just ¥2499 ($380).

The Mi Drone also includes a special controller with physical buttons to snap a photo, record video or quickly take off and land. The controller design features a stand for your smartphone so you can see what the drone is seeing through a special app. There’s even a built-in antenna that boosts the signal so you can fly the drone up to 3km (about 1.8 miles) away.

Xiaomi says the 4K Mi Drone will be available through a special beta program later this summer in July, though that will likely be limited to China. The cheaper model will be crowd-funded through the company’s Mi Home app, with pre-orders opening up on May 26 (tomorrow).
