Xiaomi’s latest release is more of a budget-friendly option, but the company could be gearing up for another monster flagship. A new leak shared to Chinese social network Weibo reveals a few details surrounding the long-rumored Mi5.
According to one Chinese micro-blogger, the Mi5 will pack a 5.2-inch Quad HD display. That should put the device in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy S6, at least when it comes to screen quality. Rumor has it Xiaomi may also pack in a Snapdragon 810 processor, either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 3000mAh battery. It may even offer a fingerprint reader.
That’s all just speculation for now, though no matter what happens we’re expecting Xiaomi to pull out all the stops for the Mi5. There’s still no word when the device will arrive, though it could take a while after unveiling the Mi 4i just last week. Then again, the flagship Mi4 was announced last July, so we may only need to wait a few months for the Mi5.
