See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloXiaomi’s Mi5 could be official before the end of the month. The device was recently spotted passing though Chinese certification ahead of a new product announcement set for November 24.
Spotted by British site TimesNews, the filing shows what appears to be two versions of the Mi5 being granted the China Compulsory Certificate mark. Xiaomi’s new flagship phone is expected to pack a Snapdragon 820 processor, a fingerprint reader and a metal design. It should also come at a pretty reasonable price, even as the company continues to push into premium territory.
The same certification page also mentions a third device, which could be Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 Pro. The rumored smartphone is expected to be a refreshed version of the phablet unveiled earlier this year with a new metal design and a fingerprint scanner. It’s possible both devices could be revealed at this November 24 event.
We’ll learn more next week, and it looks like Xiaomi could have a lot of news to share. It’s possible that may even include plans for a U.S. expansion, though for now the company still isn’t selling any of its smartphones outside of China and a few other countries.
