Chinese phone-maker Xiaomi has another big event coming up next week, and while the focus may be on a new metal handset, the company could also have something else to show off. Earlier rumors have hinted at an upgraded Mi Pad tablet, and now Xiaomi’s own president appears to have revealed the device in question.

In a post on Weibo, the company’s co-founder shared a picture of what looks like a metal tablet. All we can see is one corner of the device, which shows the rear camera along with power and volume buttons on the side. The new design looks pretty nice, especially compared to the brightly colored plastic shells featured on Xiaomi’s original Mi Pad.

The Mi Pad 2 is expected pack some upgraded specs as well. That includes a new quad-core Intel Chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. This is still more of an entry-level tablet, but that doesn’t mean it can’t look good at the same time.

Lin Bin also recently teased a gold-colored metal smartphone with a fingerprint reader in back just below the camera. This appears to be the Redmi Note 2 Pro, an upgraded version of Xiaomi’s recent phablet. As for the flagship Mi5, we’re still hoping to see it unveiled next week, though it’s possible the company could save that announcement for early 2016.
