Xiaomi unveiled another new phone on Tuesday. The Redmi 3 Pro is a quick follow-up to the company’s recent mid-range handset, adding a fingerprint scanner and a bit more power while maintaining a budget-friendly price.

The Redmi 3 Pro starts at 899 yuan (roughly $140), up from 699 yuan ($100) for the Redmi 3. It also offers 3GB of RAM (up from 2GB) and a rear fingerprint reader. The phone’s metal design has been simplified a bit, ditching the textured back found on its predecessor for a smooth finish.

Otherwise, the specs haven’t changed very much. You still get a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 616 processor, expandable storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 4100mAh battery. Not bad considering the price.

The Redmi 3 Pro is set to launch in China on April 6. It could also be headed to India and a few other countries where Xiaomi operates, but we doubt this will be the device the company uses to finally break into the U.S. market.
