See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloXiaomi’s long-rumored drone is finally ready for primetime. The Chinese company released its first teaser for the device on Thursday following reports that it could launch before the end of the month.
The teaser features a simple toy-like wooden propeller. We assume that’s not the final design, but it seems like a pretty strong indication that a drone is on the way. GizChina notes that Xiaomi typically teases its new products just ahead of launch, suggesting this one really will debut in May.
Xiaomi may have accidentally released its new dedicated app earlier this week. The leak appears to confirm the device will be capable of filming 4K video, suggesting the company could be planning a pretty high-end drone.
We still don’t know how much the new drone will cost, or where it will be available. Xiaomi just announced a new Android TV box that’s launching in the U.S., but it’s possible its next big product might still be limited to China.
