See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloWe’re still waiting for Xiaomi to reveal the Mi Note 2. Now it looks like the flagship phablet could be one step closer to launch, with an official unveiling still rumored for later this month.
The device recently received its China Compulsory Certificate (CCC), a safety mark required for all products in the country. The Mi Note 2 still needs TENAA approval before it can officially launch in the country, but based on the frequency of recent leaks, it probably won’t be long before Xiaomi unveils the new phone. Rumor has it the device could debut at an event on September 14 ahead of an official release on September 24.
The Mi Note 2 is expected to be Xiaomi’s most powerful smartphone yet. It allegedly features a 5.7-inch Quad HD curved display similar to the Galaxy Note 7, though the company could offer a cheaper flat-screened 1080p model as well. The device might also pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 processor, dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
Despite all that high-end hardware, the upcoming smartphone could still undercut the competition with a starting price of around $450. However, we’re not expecting Xiaomi to offer the Mi Note 2 outside of China and a few other countries. The company recently hinted that it could be gearing up for a U.S. mobile launch, but there’s still no official word on when that will happen.
