Xiaomi is almost ready to reveal its next big phone. The Chinese handset has been leaking left and right, but now it’s passed through Chinese certification with an official list of specs and some new pictures.
The device in question appears to be the Mi5 Plus, a supersized version of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi5. It packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, LTE capability and comes in black or “white gold.” Overall the design looks pretty simple. It’s a straightforward slate with some similarities to the Mi Note announced earlier this year.
Other rumored specs for the Mi5 Plus include a Snapdragon 820 chip, a 3500mAh battery and 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the standard Mi5 is apparently set to feature a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 3000mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel shooter up front.
There’s still no word on when Xiaomi plans to reveal its new smartphones, but it shouldn’t be long now. As for a price, the Mi5 is expected to cost 2399 yuan (roughly $386), so we’re guessing the Mi5 Plus will be at least a little more expensive than that.
