See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloXiaomi’s upcoming Mi5 was leaked in full earlier this week, so it’s probably time to finally unveil the new phone. Thankfully, it looks like that’s the plan with a new event set for July 16 according to the Chinese company’s Weibo account.
The online invitation doesn’t reveal much, but it does offer what could be a first look at the Mi5. We see the super-thin profile of some sort or device with curved corners. It also appears to feature a metal frame or even a unibody design. It’s tough to say for sure, though we won’t have too wait much longer to find out.
We may already know what to expect from the Mi5, at least when it comes to its hardware. The device allegedly packs a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 3000mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel shooter up front. It may also cost around 2399 yuan in China (about $386).
As for the rumored Mi5 Plus, we would love to see the super-sized smartphone launch this month as well, but that seems less likely. The rumored phablet is expected to pack a Snapdragon 820 chip, meaning it likely won’t arrive until late 2015 when the new processor is released. We’re looking forward to seeing the flagship Mi5 finally make its debut in the meantime.
